This month will see the release of the new Sizzix Dies designed by David Tutera. If you watch Hochanda you might have seen these already as they had an exclusive launch.
I’m going to be honest and say these look so much better than I thought they would be. Going by the packaging they look very much designed for weddings but they are truly versatile and came be used for so many occasions and projects.
Here is a list of dies that are available in the range:
I really like the simplicity of this card. By simply using the butterflies from the Sizzix Framelits w/stamps – Lets Celebrate (662644) it has created a really pretty background which only needs the sentiment stamp which is also in the set. Here I have heat embossed the stamp using white embossing powder,
Let’s talk cupcake toppers! These are made from Sizzix Framelits Die Set w/stamps – Cupcake Toppers (662642). Again the stamps come in the set and I have heat embossed them. This is a great example of how versatile these are because although they are cake toppers these work amazingly well as card toppers and sentiments.
Here is a perfect example of how good these work as card toppers too. Perfect for adding sentiments. On this card I have also used the butterfly stamp and the rolled flower from Sizzix Framelits Die Set – Cupcake Toppers (662642).
Even open a scrapbook layout these work so well. Here is has been teamed up with Sizzix Thinlits Die Set – Floral Banner (662364) which created the chevrons on the top of the page.
The butterflies were one of the most popular items on the show. Sizzix Thinlits Die Set – Delicate Butterfly (662393) was used to create this table piece. The butterflies have been added into wire. To keep then in the jar I have place a piece of oasis and then covered with mints (because I couldn’t find any pebbles)
Talking of butterflies, this one is huge! It measures nearly 7″ when die cut, although it will still fit through the standard Big Shot as it is folded when cut. This is from Sizzix Thinlits Die Set – Large Butterfly (662392).
This wreath started life as a plain, white polystyrene wreath. I wrapped the natural twine all the way around it and dry brushed with white acrylic paint to add a rustic effect. Then the flowers from Sizzix Thinlits Die Set – Large 3D Flower (661881).
Finally Sizzix Thinlits Die Set – Floral Banner (662364) is one of my favourites. You can see from the image at the top of this post that it makes the most beautiful bunting, but it also makes stunning cards. I love the floral elements that are included in this set.
I hope you like these projects and for anyone who didn’t see the exclusive release on Hochanda I hope they have given you a good insight into what is included in these die sets.
