Today I wanted to start looking at all of the wonderful things you can make with cutting machines. I am the very proud owner of the Silhouette Cameo and a Cricut machine and in all honesty I really don’t use them enough so I am going to be doing some Sunday posts looking at all of the projects you can create with these amazing machines.
This week I have been creating lots of Valentines themed projects so to keep up with the Lurrrveee theme I have made a gumball machine and decorated it for Valentines Day!
This project is fairly simple once you find where all the pieces need to go. Hopefully this tutorial will help a little!

Using your Silhouette software you need to sort the images into what is cut from Cardstock and what is cut from patterned paper. When you get the file, it will not all be on the page as you can see. I have placed below two pages to be cut from cardstock.
Next you need to cut these images from patterned paper.
Starting with these two pieces you need to attach them together to create this box shape.
Next you need to piece the second part together as shown below.
You now simply need to tuck the in at the top to make the box stonger and fold the bottom to create the drawer. You will then end up with this:
Next comes the fun part when the gumball machine can be decorated. I added all of the patterned paper and then added a strip of ribbon around the lid.
Die cut one scalloped heart and one heart and adhere to the top of the gumball machine lid. Add a flower embellishment.
Die cut another two scalloped hearts and two hearts and adhere to each side of the box.
Add the sentiment to the front and die cut the butterfly to decorate.
Please feel free to leave a comment or contact me if you have any questions about this or any of my other creations!
